+ December 11, 2020 CHILDREN under the age of 15, elderly residents above 65 years old, pregnant women and individuals with comorbidities who are most at risk of contracting coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) are not allowed to physically attend the dawn masses in Mandaue City.
These are among the stringent guidelines for the conduct of Misa de Gallo as contained in the executive order that Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes issued Friday, Dec. 11, 2020.
The traditional dawn masses will start on Wednesday, Dec. 16.
Anticipated masses are allowed to be held in late afternoons or evenings beginning Dec. 15, except on Dec. 20, the Fourth Sunday of Advent.
Lawyer August Lizer Malate, head of the Emergency Operations Center in Mandaue City, said the executive order was based on their agreement with the Archdiocese of Cebu.
