Hutto will be have a special election on Saturday for mayor and the City Council Place 3 seat. Council Member Mike Snyder, 44, is running for mayor against Steven R. Harris, a 47-year-old networking specialist at Dell.
Randal Clark, a 42-year-old test manager at a semi-conductor company is running for the Place 3 seat against Amanda Mandi Villarreal Salvo, a 33-year-old owner of a marketing company.
The special election is being held because former Mayor Doug Gaul resigned in November, citing personal reasons. Snyder currently holds the Place 3 seat and is vacating it during his first term to run for mayor.
The mayor and council members are elected to serve three-year terms.
