QC police arrest woman for fake news

(Unsplash / MANILA BULLETIN) The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified her as Ma. Cecilia Angeles Raymundo, who went on social by the name of Macie Angeles. She was arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant for violating the Article 154 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 97 Judge Rochelle Manuel issued the warrant against her “after the pieces of evidence were confirmed, verified, documented and presented” by police. The charge against her came after QCPD’s cybercrime team “intercepted” her social media post in which she claimed she received P3,000 cash and a hygiene kit from Mayor Joy Belmonte.

QC LGU cautions public against fixers selling appointment slots in processing business permit

Quezon City Logo (MANILA BULLETIN) “Wala pong bayad ang appointment system para sa inyong business permit. Please do not transact with fixers who promise to make the process easier for you. Our system is already easy enough, you just have to log in to our QC E-Services Website,” Mayor Belmonte said. The warning was issued by Mayor Belmonte after the QC Business Permits and Licensing Department (BPLD) found out that thousands of appointment slots were reserved by at least 10 individuals. “We will not let opportunists interfere with our online services which do not only provide an efficient option but it also safeguards our transacting public from the coronavirus,” she said.

63 guests, employees of restobar in Quezon City issued citation tickets for violating health protocols

(Task Force Disiplina / MANILA BULLETIN) City’s Task Force Disiplina head Rannie Ludovica said they issued citation tickets to 63 customers and employees for violating the city’s ordinance on curfew hours and on “contact tracing and health protocols.” Ludovica added he would also recommend a permanent closure order against 14Q Bar and Restaurant as it was already operating without a business permit from the mayor’s office. “Wala pa naman syang mayor’s permit, wala syang business permit pa (First of all, it had no mayor’s permit, no business permit), so we recommended for a closure ,” Ludovica told the Manila Bulletin in a phone interview.
