Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Lt. Gov. Jon Husted will both be in East Cleveland Wednesday to outline a new broadband expansion project for the area.
The plan has been developed through a partnership of private businesses and the state-run BroadbandOhio, the latter of which DeWine s administration announced more than a year ago as part of an effort to bolster high-speed internet services. The governor plans to give more details Wednesday at Mayfair Elementary School.
COVID-19 cases in Pennsylvania rise as schools and businesses reopen
After six weeks of declining COVID-19 infections and two weeks of new infections remaining the same, Pennsylvania is beginning to see the early signs of another wave of cases. The seven-day moving average has risen to over 5,000 cases per day, doubling in the past three weeks. Deaths remain relatively low for now, but hospitalizations have also risen by 11 percent to nearly 2,300.
Throughout the state, over one million people have been infected with COVID and over 25,243 people have died. The vaccine rollout has been one of the weakest in the nation, with just 16 percent of the population fully vaccinated. The rapid rise in infections is an indication of the spread of more contagious variants of COVID and the disastrous character of the policy of reopening schools and other businesses.

A letter was sent to parents and families of students, detailing steps officials will embark on to ensure safety for all within the school community.
MAYFAIR - Mayfair Elementary School will close temporarily from March 18 through April 1, due to multiple positive cases of COVID-19, officials announced Wednesday.
A letter was sent to parents and families of students, detailing steps officials will embark on to ensure safety for all within the school community.
The letter explained any child who was in a classroom with a student or staff who subsequently has tested positive for COVID-19 will be contacted by Philadelphia Department of Public Health to list next steps, including the need for the child to quarantine.
Free meals are being given away at different Fresno schools almost every day

Volunteers loaded the meals in trunks to avoid contact.
The partnership with the Fresno Unified School District and the Central California Food Bank is making meals distributions like this nearly every day of the week.
Fresno State is also helping out - sending several student volunteers to each event.
When boxes are left over, they re taken to families in Mendota, Five Points, Madera, Firebaugh and Easton. We don t ask for anything, we don t care if they show up wherever we are. We give them food without asking any kind of questions, says Jugo Gomez with Every Neighborhood Partnership.
