Central Oregon's record-setting heat waves, recurring smoke-filled skies and debilitating drought are all subjects to be addressed in "Climate Resilience in Central Oregon," a Nancy R. Chandler Lecture Series presentation at Central Oregon Community College (COCC), being held in-person at Wille Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2, with a livestream option also offered. Tickets are $8 for the in-person event and $5 for the livestream, available at cocc.edu/foundation/cls. Presenter Hal Wershow is an assistant geology professor at COCC and a board member of the Central Oregon Geoscience Society. His talk will examine climate change in Central Oregon, what changes are expected regionally throughout the 21st century, as well as what communities can do to diminish impacts and adapt to changes. Wershow began his geology career at the USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory and later worked as a field geologist at the U.S. Department of Energy's Los Alamos National Laborator
