Mexican singer and composer Armando Manzanero dies aged 85

Mexican ballad singer and composer Armando Manzanero has died at the age of 85. Manzanero was admitted to hospital in recent weeks with Covid-19 and at one point was on a ventilator. But his manager, Laura Blum, said he died at a Mexico City hospital of complications from a kidney problem. Manzanero was a crooner best known for songs like Somos Novios which, with translated English lyrics, became the 1970s hit It’s Impossible for Perry Como. Mexican singer and composer Armando Manzanero died Monday at he age of 85 Manzanero was diagnosed with COVID-19 on December 17 and was hospitalized five days later Mexican newspaper El Universal reported that Manzanero had suffered a heart attack at a Mexico City hospital  The ballad singer required intubation after experiencing lung problems and was awaiting to received dialysis, according to his family  Manzanero wrote songs for stars that included Andrea Bocelli, Placido Domingo, Celia Cruz, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera
