Anderson County native Chadwick Boseman could make history on Monday.
The T.L Hanna High School graduate could be named in historic Oscar nominations on Monday morning, capping a phenomenal and too-brief career in Hollywood.
Boseman, who died in August at 43 after a private bout with colon cancer, did not live to receive a highly-regarded Oscar nomination for his previous movies. But two movies released in 2020 Ma Rainey s Black Bottom and Da 5 Bloods have ushered in a whole new level of critical acclaim.
Industry publications including Variety and EW are predicting that Boseman is expected to get at least one and potentially two posthumous Oscar nominations and is a front-runner to win the best actor category.
