Reimagined Junk Kouture final to showcase fashion flair

Donegal trio crowned 2020 Junk Kouture champions Updated / Friday, 5 Feb 2021 08:29 The winning design was made from plastic milk cartons and recycled glass Three students from Donegal have been crowned 2020 Junk Kouture winners with a fishtail gown made of sea glass, plastic milk cartons and recycled glass such as bottles and jam jars. The event sees participants show off fashion creations they have made from everyday materials. The 2020 final, which was to have been held in Dublin s 3 Arena last March, was cancelled due to the pandemic. But the Junk Kouture team was determined to let the 2020 finalists have their moment on the runway and in the reimagined final, Brónach Harkin, Robyn O Donnell and Orlaith Doherty took the top spot with   Synergy .

Who will be crowned the next big thing at Junk Kouture Grand Final this Thursday on RTÉ2? Reporter: );   ); It will be lights, camera, action as students from across Ireland battle it out to be crowned winner of the rescheduled 2020 Junk Kouture Grand Final this Thursday at 7pm on RTÉ2. Like most live events last year, Covid-19 led to the postponement of the 10th annual Junk Kouture final in 3Arena Dublin in April 2020, but the curtain didn’t fall on Junk Kouture as the team persevered to produce an equally wonderful alternative to their yearly live show. And now for the first time ever, the Junk Kouture Grand Final supported by the Creative Ireland Programme will be televised, beaming the incredible designs of students into the homes of the nation and showcasing these talented young people who have waited so patiently throughout the pandemic for their moment to shine.
