Larry Gilbertson
Larry Gilbertson had the biggest heart. He retired from teaching at Century High School in Rochester, MN in 2012. He spent his retirement years continuing, as he had always done, to build, remodel, and fix anything he could get his hands on and moving back and forth between California and Minnesota three times. One of his favorite quotes was, “Not all who wander are lost.” (J.R.R Tolkien). He also read a ton of books, and his reading recliner seems very empty without him.
Larry and Dana had just landed back in Redding, CA when that big heart of his gave out on July 23rd, 2021, at only 68 years old, much to the surprise of his family and friends. He was strong till the end, but he’d just worked it too hard. He is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Gilbertson and Marion Tongen, and his first wife, Eileen Gilbertson.
