H.S. Nordic Ski: Mohawk Trail, Amherst open season
A cold, blustery Saturday in January?
Nordic ski season officially arrived.
Things may have looked a bit different for the local Nordic ski programs over the weekend, but the competition was once again tight between host Mohawk Trail Regional and visiting Amherst Regional in a head-to-head dual meet in Buckland. Instead of the normal 8-10 schools in attendance, and with Berkshire County schools competing in their own bubble this winter, Mohawk Trail, which co-ops with Hampshire Regional, and Amherst were the lone squads competing during the season-opening meet.
In lieu of wave starts, competitions were spaced out in 15-second intervals to align with COVID-19 protocols.
