NAUGATUCK A developer wants to build a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurant on Rubber Avenue.
The Parikh Network, a large franchise group, is proposing to build a Popeyes, a fried chicken fast food restaurant, at 111 Rubber Ave.
The New Jersey-based group has applied for two special permits one for excavation and the other for a restaurant with a drive-thru window to the Zoning Commission.
The group plans to tear down the former John’s Restaurant at 111 Rubber Ave. and build a Popeyes with a drive-thru in its place, according to the applications. John’s Restaurant closed in late October.
The plan includes removing about 1,070 cubic yards of earth material from the roughly 0.4-acre site and redeveloping the parking lot.
