Michigan Championship of Online Poker (MICOOP), which was open to PokerStars players in the Wolverine State, began on February 20 and wrapped on Monday night. The 60-event series proved to be a huge success by catering to 28,830 combined entrants and awarded $2,208,002 in prize money, well ahead of the $1.4 million in guaranteed prize pools.

In between, there were several intriguing storylines, including a pair of two-time winners. First,

Hardcastle is one of poker s latest success stories with one big online poker tournament score after another in recent months. Less than a month ago, he managed his previous biggest score in his poker career at the time after he finished in fourth place after agreeing to a four-way deal at the final table in the PokerStars Blowout Series: $109 NLHE â The Big Blowout! to win $270,764.

Aliaksandr Hirs were the next batch of players eliminated before one of the biggest hands of the event took place.
Jack Hardcastle
WPT Blog, Andrei Kriazhev opened with cowboys and was called by
Jan-Eric Schwippert with jacks before Jack Hardcastle squeezed with snowmen. All three players got their chips in the pot with Kriazhev having both of his opponents covered and Hardcastle coming in as the short stack.
It appeared likely that Hardcastle and Schwippert would both hit the rail but that wasn t the case for Hardcastle who instead temporarily snagged the chip lead after an eight came on the board to give him a set.
