EASTON — An attempted theft trial for a man charged in eight pending criminal cases in Talbot County, including one involving armed robbery of an Easton restaurant, was delayed Tuesday in pursuance of negotiations to reach a “global settlement.” Maurice Nelson, an attorney for Robert Loder, 24, of Chestertown, requested the postponement Dec. 22 and asked that a trial not be set until after Loder is tried for felony armed robbery of Hong Kong Kitchens in Easton. “I don’t think (a trial) will be necessary,” Nelson said of the attempted theft case, adding he would be “very surprised if this case sees the light at the end.”
