Even so, next year s election cycle is looking like an extravaganza, with primaries and general elections looming for both chambers of Congress and the presidency - not to mention the governor s race in 2025, with two Democrats already jockeying for position in a primary that s 18 months away.
Following Mayor Levar Stoney’s announcement earlier this month of his plans to run for governor and his term-limited seat up-for-grabs, Richmond’s mayoral race officially kicked off with several candidates already vying for the position.
