The paintings in the show were inspired by two challenging and resplendent hikes with her husband in the Wind River Range of Wyoming. The online art exhibit will be accompanied by a Zoom program on Thursday, March 11, at 6 p.m., featuring the screening of a film by Egan and her husband, Tim Seymour, which documents the eight-day hiking adventure in 2019.

Daughters of blind woman stand in long Lee County lines for her to get vaccine

Daughters of blind woman stand in long Lee County lines for her to get vaccine FORT MYERS, Fla. – A Fort Myers woman shared her story of the strategy she was forced to use to get a COVID-19 vaccine in Lee County. Maureen Egan has age-related macular degeneration, which is an eye disease that causes vision loss, leaving her legally-blind. She can only see outlines and shapes and can no longer read or write. Navigating a long line with her condition is no easy task, but getting a COVID-19 vaccine was important to her and her husband. “We need to get this done to have our life back. Because at our age, we don’t have much life left,” said Egan.
