To adhere to provincial health orders, a Ride Don’t Hide mobile app has been created to track participants’ activity, connect with teammates, fundraise and participate in weekly challenges. From June 1st to 30th, participants from across the country can raise funding by participating in physical activity challenges like running, walking, or dancing.

Residents within the Northern Health region have stated their mental health has taken a nosedive since the onset of the pandemic, which included lockdowns, school closures, and economic uncertainty. The initiative is rolling with the times and is evolving its local rides into virtual physical activity challenges of your choice. “The pandemic has been hard, but the silver lining is that more people are aware of their own mental health and more willing to talk freely about their stresses and struggles,” said Maureen Davis, Executive Director of the Canadian Mental Health Association of Northern BC.
