At 92 years young Maureen O’Sullivan has been the back-bone of the local community in Tuosist since the pandemic hit last March. As the only shop between Ardgroom and Kenmare, she became ever more vital as the community went into lock-down and despite, given her age, the fear of contracting the virus, her doors remained open to ensure that the basic necessities were always readily available.
“I like doing the bit of business and meeting people and chatting. We are the only shop between Kenmare and Ardgroom so people are very grateful. I always left the door open in case anybody would need anything. It was nice to see the customers and they always supported me,” she said.
