City councilors on Tuesday also heard pleas for help to fund the Winslow Community Cupboard and Waterville Area Soup Kitchen whose officials said the number of individuals and families needing food has increased significantly.
An administrator for the Waterville Area Soup Kitchen told the council Tuesday the kitchen is serving 250 to 300 meals a day and demand for food is growing.
