Code Enforcement Board grants North Ocean property owners 60 more days in illegal gate dispute

Palm Beach Daily News The property owners of 1071 N. Ocean Boulevard have been given an additional 60 days to obtain a permit for a 5-foot beach access gate installed illegally last year. The Code Enforcement Board voted April 15 to give, Reiwa LLC additional time to notarize the signatures of all nearby owners on Orange Grove Road who had already signed agreeing to the gate.  Records show the owner was first contacted by the police department about the gate on Aug. 4 and told to obtain all necessary permits by Aug. 18, which the owner did not do. But, Zoning Manager Paul Castro said, the issue isn’t just the signatures. A restrictive covenant recorded in two property deeds from 1941 would have to be amended for a gate to be allowed in the walkway, he said.

Worth A company managed by Jean Christine Thompson, an executive with family-owned Thompson Petroleum Corp. in Dallas, sold a Manalapan mansion that stretches from the ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway for $20.45 million. CTRE13 LLC, managed by Thompson, sold the 12,181-square-foot home at 1960 S. Ocean Blvd. to 1960 South Ocean LLC. The buyer is managed by attorney Maura Ziska, likely on behalf of a client. The seller was represented by Steven Presson of the Corcoran Group, while the buyer worked with Lawrence Moens of Lawrence A. Moens Associates. The price equated to $1,679 per square foot.

With an oceanfront parcel and a lakefront mansion on the opposite side of the coastal road, the property at 1960 S. Ocean Blvd. measures about 3 acres. The property has 350 feet of lake frontage with a deepwater dock, in addition to about 370 feet of beachfront. Built in 1989, the nine-bedroom estate has 43,386 square feet of living space, indoors and out, including a roadside tunnel from the lake parcel to the larger beach parcel and cabana, according to property records. About 11,873 of the residential space is air-conditioned.
