Image: Masterzphotois/iStock/Getty Images Plus Thirteen members of the Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Dental Medicine community were honored at the 2021 Dean’s Community Service Awards ceremony on May 13. The awards recognize HMS and HSDM faculty, staff, trainees, and students for exemplifying HMS’s mission of outreach and community service. HMS Dean George Q. Daley recognized this year’s honorees as selfless innovators and leaders who, along with the organizations they serve, have performed outstanding community service, such as delivering health care to underserved communities in Venezuela or providing students from groups underrepresented in medicine with opportunities to attend classes at HMS, Harvard College, Harvard Business School, and other area institutions.
