Maui Economic Opportunity is offering free bus rides to help Molokai west end residents pick up their mail from the Hoolehua Post Office.
The Maunaloa Post Office temporarily closed Feb. 24 due to structural and vector control issues, forcing the estimated 240 customers to pick up their mail at the back door of the Hoolehua Post Office, which is located at 69-2 Puupeelua Avenue and is open from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 4 p.m., according to the U.S. Postal Service.
On March 1, MEO began a special route to help west end residents pick up their mail in Hoolehua, the nonprofit said in a news release Tuesday. An MEO bus leaves Misaki’s in Kaunakakai at 10:30 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays, traveling to the Hoolehua Post Office then to Maunaloa and Kaluakoi.
