The federal government has apparently failed to convince Pakistan Democratic Movement Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to change the venue of the sit-in and announced that a new place of protest.
Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that too many extremist parties have been registered with the Election Commission Pakistan (ECP) but they have not explained their source of funding and it is a matter of concern. At a press conference in Islamabad on Sunday, Chaudhry and Minister of State for Information Farrukh Habib attacked Maulana Fazul Rehman s Jamiat Ulema Islam, the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN), and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for their unexplained party accounts. Fawad Chaudhry said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has submitted a record of 40,000 donors to the Election Commission. The PTI is the first party to devise a funding .

LAHORE: PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz has said her party and many other components of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) still believe in the “resignations option” and think these must be tendered.
She said this here on Tuesday while speaking to the media outside the Sharifs’ Jati Umra residence before leaving for Islamabad to attend a meeting of the 10-party opposition alliance to be held on Thursday (tomorrow) to decide the future course of their agitation aimed at ousting the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government.
“The resignations remain a potent option and so is the long march. The PDM’s leadership is meeting in two days to discuss them threadbare, work out modalities and firm up options,” she told the media gathered outside her Jatti Umra residence.
