When Haleiwa resident Kanani Oury first conceived the idea of the “Makana no na Keiki” holiday gift drive benefiting kids who have survived the Maui wildfires, she vowed that every one of the hundreds of children preregistered for the culminating “family fun fair” this Saturday would get at least one gift.
Makana nō nā keiki, a toy drive and holiday experience for children impacted by the Maui fires, announced today the deadline to register keiki wish lists is Oct. 31, 2023. The website has a section for family or friends to register their keiki (ages 18 and below) with a top three wish list.

The County of Maui is currently setting up a fuel distribution station at the Puʻukoliʻi Train Station in Kāʻanapali today, Aug. 11.
This fuel is distributed while this current supply lasts. There is no word on how often the distribution will take place, but authorities are aware of the demand.
