Gold solar farm hearing postponed to April 13
NORTH SMITHFIELD – A hearing regarding a proposed solar farm on a parcel commonly known as the “Gold Forest” was delayed this week after the Zoning Board requested additional materials from the developer.
Anthony Delvicario has proposed building a nine-megawatt solar farm on the Mattity Road property. The project will require two special use permits and a dimensional variance due to its size and location within a Water Supply Overlay District.
Board members on Tuesday said the application was lacking required information, including an analysis of the potential groundwater impacts. Attorney John Mancini said they would amend the application and return at a later date. The hearing was postponed until April 13.
