Deadly gun violence hits Birmingham family for 2nd time in just over a year

Birmingham police identified the city’s 117th homicide victim as Corey Duskin. He was 29.
Officers responded at 6:20 p.m. Saturday to 5909 Ellington Street on a report of a person shot. Sgt. Rod Mauldin said officers arrived to find a wounded Duskin in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.
He was taken to UAB Hospital’s Trauma Center by Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
