23 cases of dengue detected in Landi Kotal
Experts fear situation could turn into pandemic if timely steps not taken

Around 23 cases of dengue have surfaced in Matti Khel, Khyber tribal district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) causing serious concerns among the Health Department.
Talking to The Express Tribune, District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Ayub Afridi said that they had collected samples of 56 people for testing and 23 of them tested positive for dengue.
“In Matta Khel, Landi Kotal 23 cases have been detected and after this we have started collecting more blood samples for testing. We have started fog sprays in the area and all the patients have been provided medicine free of cost,” he said, adding that local residents should take precautionary measures.
