Mathole Motshekga to sue Modjadji royal family for R10m

Pretoria - ANC MP Mathole Motshekga is planning to institute a R10 million defamation lawsuit against the Modjadji royal family, according to his attorney and party veteran Matthews Phosa.
This comes after the regent of the Modjadji monarchy, Prince Mpapatla Modjadji, and spokesperson of the Modjadji Royal Council Phetole Mampeule told the media on Monday that Motshekga and his wife, Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga, were peddling lies and sowing divisions within the kingdom for their own benefit.
Motshekga, a former adviser to the royal family, raised and educated Princess Masalanabo Modjadji, who was tipped to be Queen Modjadji VII when she reached the legal age of 18 in two years.

The implementation of the ANCâs National Executive Committeeâs (NEC) step aside resolution has failed to see the light of the day.
Almost eight months ago, the NEC resolved that all senior members and leaders accused of wrongdoing and criminally charged should step aside until they are cleared.
Implementation of step aside resolution delayed as ANC waits for NEC s nod

Durban - The ANC s step aside resolution which has been in the making since August last year has been delayed once again pending one more last nod.
This time around, the resolution – which compels party leaders and senior members accused of wrongdoing and already criminally charged to step aside – needs the approval of the party’s national executive committee (NEC) and this is likely to delay the implementation process by at least a week.
This comes as the list of leaders who have to step aside, as submitted by the nine provinces, are yet to go through the national working committee (NWC) and later to the NEC for the very last ratification.
