A man died Saturday night after he fought with another man as the pair fought on Phoenix Street in Canandaigua, Ontario County.
Officers were called to 99 Phoenix St. just before 10:30 p.m. to investigate an ongoing fight. There, they found Anthony Gray, 50, of Canandaigua unconscious and unresponsive as a result of the fight, Canandaigua Police Chief Matthew Nielsen said in a news release on Sunday afternoon. He was taken to F.F. Thompson Memorial Hospital in Canandaigua, where he died a short time later, Nielsen said.
Christopher Diaz, 30, of Canandaigua was charged with first-degree manslaughter, a felony, in connection with Gray s death, Nielsen said. Diaz was apprehended at the scene and is being held at the Ontario County Jail, following his arraignment Sunday morning, in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $75,000 bond.

Three-time Olympian Matthew Nielsen has returned to the Australian men s basketball team to take up the role of assistant coach of his home nation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
He will now work with his former head coach of the national team, Brian Goorjian, who has returned to coach the nation for Tokyo 2020.
Goorjian led the Australian team at the Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008 Olympics previously.
Nielsen is currently the head coach of the Austin Spurs, the development affiliate of the National Basketball Association team San Antonio Spurs.
Before coaching, Nielsen had experience playing in the Australian National Basketball League. as well as Greece, Lithuania, Spain and Russia.
