by Matthew Mercure (NGT News) Amp Americas has entered a deal with Equilibrium and Green Gas Partners (GGP) to operate and manage their dairy RNG project in Maricopa, Ariz.
The project, in operation since 2018, was developed by Equilibrium and GGP. It is designed to capture dairy waste from approximately 30,000 milking cows across three dairy farms to generate 100% renewable natural gas (RNG). The RNG is injected into the Kinder Morgan-El Paso natural gas pipeline and purchased by BP for transportation fuel in California.
Through the operations and asset management partnership, Amp Americas is responsible for leading all operations, safety and plant management functions including waste receiving, digestion, biogas generation and injection. In addition to daily operating services, Amp Americas maintains external relationships with the dairies and manages all financial, performance and compliance reporting.
by Matthew Mercure (NGT News) Enbridge Inc., a North American energy infrastructure company, Walker Industries and Comcor Environmental have entered a partnership to jointly develop renewable natural gas (RNG) projects across Canada.
The partnership aims to transform landfill waste into carbon-neutral energy, which will be injected into local natural gas distribution networks across Canada, reducing the overall carbon emission of the gas supply used to fuel vehicle fleets and for other purposes.
“RNG is a low-carbon fuel that will help us get to net-zero,” says Seamus O’Regan, Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources. “Companies like Enbridge are working to lower emissions, create jobs and develop new opportunities to transform landfill waste into low-emitting energy.”

ExxonMobil will be the exclusive buyer of renewable diesel from Global Clean Energy’s biorefinery in Bakersfield, Calif., which is on schedule to begin production in early 2022. The renewable diesel leverages Global Clean Energy’s patented camelina crop, which can significantly reduce life-cycle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Based on analysis of California Air Resources Board data, renewable diesel from various non-petroleum feedstocks can provide life-cycle GHG emissions reductions of approximately 40% to 80% compared to petroleum-based diesel. When cultivated as a cover crop on rotational dryland, camelina can help meet the growing global demand for lower-carbon non-petroleum feedstocks.
