As Bitcoinâs Price Surges, Affluent Investors Start to Take a Look

Cryptocurrencies have soared in value. In a decade, theyâve gone from a fringe obsession that allowed coin holders to conduct business outside the financial system to an alternative investment managed as if it were any other investment. It hasnât hurt that the price of a single Bitcoin has gone from zero to over $30,000 in that time.

While the county’s latest COVID-19 numbers fuel further hope that a post-holiday surge is leveling off, San Diegans are still struggling to learn when and where they can get a coronavirus vaccine.
The answer, filled with caveats and contradictions, seems to change from day to day sometimes, within the course of a day.
Case in point: On Monday morning, UC San Diego Health staff announced that the county’s mass vaccination site near Petco Park was accepting appointments from those 65 and up for the day.
Christopher Longhurst, UCSD Health’s chief information officer, says the county told UCSD it could expand its vaccine eligibility. Longhurst shared the update via Twitter. That led to a signup scramble though only among a select group that saw the original tweet. About 2,000 San Diegans 65 and up got their shots at the site, according to UCSD. Residents near the vaccination site complained of long traffic lines.
