We re still going to work very collaboratively with this new office, whether it s on recruitment and retention efforts, or it s on professional development, he explained. And instituting the recommendations on that DEI group had a pretty heavy professional development component and training requirement, not just for city employees, also city boards, commissions, elected officials and so forth.
Director of Finance Matthew Kerwood presented a review of the third quarter of fiscal 2021 to the Finance Committee on Thursday. In the quarter that ended on March 31, the city collected 74.3 percent of its overall commitment on property taxes totaling $59,482,137 and 74.1 percent of personal property taxes at $8,690,148. The city s General Stabilization account is at $4,478,112 and the Public Works Stabilization Account has a sum of $243,633. The Public Works Stabilization Fund was created in October 2019 and is where 25 percent of marijuana tax revenue is deposited. The certified amount of free cash stands at $5.3 million because there were no appropriations from the free cash account in fiscal 2020, Kerwood explained.
The new trail off the 14-year-old Farm and Forest Trail is a collaboration of Shaker Village, Mill Town and Greenagers. HANCOCK, Mass. Mill Town Capital, Hancock Shaker Village, and Greenagers are collaborating to reveal the archeological remains of five Shaker buildings from 1800 in a new trail that opens in mid-July. The route will be a spur off the U-shaped Farm and Forest Trail that runs through the southern woods below the historic Hancock Shaker Village on Route 20. In the spring 2021 session of the Berkshire Outdoor Recreation Summit, representatives from the entities explained how the partnership is tying in historical education, outdoor recreation, and art in this project.
Pittsfield Wins Distinguished Budget Award For A Fourth Year
For the fourth year in a row, the city of Pittsfield has won the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the compilation of its fiscal year 2021 budget, according to a press release from the City of Pittsfield and the Mayor s Office.
The awards are presented by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
