The man who fatally stabbed five young people at a Calgary house party nearly seven years ago should be transitioned to live in a halfway house, his lawyers argued Thursday.
That case was made during an Alberta Court of Appeals hearing challenging a decision by a mental-health review board that ruled against increased privileges for Matthew de Grood, including transitioning to that 24/7 living scenario from the Alberta Hospital Edmonton where he now resides.
