No parole for woman convicted of killing Fairfield child
FAIRFIELD A woman convicted of killing a young child a decade ago in Fairfield lost her bid for freedom this week when she was denied parole.
Charitie L. Hennig, 44, is serving a 25-years-to-life sentence at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla.
She was convicted of assault on a child resulting in death and voluntary manslaughter, the District Attorney’s Office reports. The jury acquitted her of a murder charge.
The parole board agreed Thursday with Chief Deputy District Attorney Sharon S. Henry that the release of Hennig would pose a high risk for future violence.
