hello. i m j.c. hayward. we are beginning with breaking news of another shooting that occurred at the marine museum in quantico, virginia. this makes the fourth shooting at a military building in the washington area. investigators are asking the gunman to surrender. bruce leshan is live from the scene. investigators are there collecting evidence. bruce? we are out at the front gate at the national museum of the marine corps and you can see the police have this shut off here. they are turning people away. there are a lot of people coming by, haven t heard the news, trying to visit the museum and they are be being turned away. up in the museum area, if you look at the videotape, you will see it is absolutely crawling with police officers who are going through it and investigating inch by inch. they are bringing in sophisticated machinery. i m not even sure what it is. but really the big news has come out of the briefing at the washington fbi field and their acting assistant j
police custody. he s accused of killing 23-year- old chris mater. the victim was returning home from work at a bennigan s restaurant in waldorf when he was gunned down on thanksgiving morning 2004. we have new details about the suspect in federal custody accused of plotting a bombing attack on metro subway systems. investigators say that in 2008, 34-year-old farooque ahmed attempted to buy firearms to fight against u.s. troops overseas. the pakistani-born virginia man did not enter a guilty plea at a brief court appearance. agents raided ahmed s home in ashburn yesterday after he allegedly tried to help people posing as al-qaeda operatives wage an attack on metro subway systems. kristin fisher has more on how this affected riders during this morning s commute. reporter: metro riders at the courthouse rotation in arlington were met with an unpleasant reality check as they made their way to work this morning. how would you feel if you walked to one of the metro stations i
