Sony unveiled two pro-level devices yesterday, starting with a $2,500 smartphone (no, it doesn’t fold or roll up). Teased in early 2020, the Xperia Pro is for video professionals working in the field, especially those who might use its mmWave 5G connection to stream events.
Unlike the standard Xperia 1 ii, the Pro model packs a four-way beamforming antenna for improved network performance and has a handy network strength visualizer that shows users where the most stable signal is a “5G radar” as Chris Velazco puts it. Apart from that, though, it’s an upgraded Xperia 1 II.
Then there’s the Sony A1, its top-end still and video camera for prosumers. With a next-gen full-frame 50-megapixel sensor and the company’s image-processing technology, it seems to have everything it needs to put the frighteners on Nikon and Canon. Again.

Apple has launched a limited-edition Watch for ‘Black History Month’, with a unique band and a new face.
Available from February 1, the new hardware is part of what the company is calling the Black Unity Collection, a group of products designed to “celebrate and acknowledge Black history and Black culture.”
Apple says the limited-edition Watch will be available in “over 38 countries and regions.”
It hasn’t yet confirmed international prices, but the $399 Watch starts at 379 pounds or AU$599.

The band will also be available separately for $49.
Apple Watch users can participate in a new ‘Unity Activity Challenge’ and earn the limited-edition award by closing their Move ring seven days in a row during February.

Apple is launching a limited-edition Apple Watch for Black History Month, with a unique watch band, new watchface, and some of the proceeds going toward civil rights organizations.
The watch, part of a new Black Unity Collection of products, comes with a black, green, and red striped band and face, meant to reflect the Pan-African flag. It otherwise appears to be the standard aluminum version of the Apple Watch Series 6, with pricing starting at $399. The band will also be available separately for $49.

Apple has officially launched the limited-edition Apple Watch Series 6 Black Unity as part of the Black Unity Collection which the company uses to acknowledge the black history and culture.
In addition to the smartwatch, Apple has also unveiled the Black Unity Sport Band and the Unity watch face, with the company explaining that all products are supposed to help support six global organizations.
