“We cook what we sell, and we sell what we cook,” Ferrio says. “Only at Eataly can you shop all the same ingredients that are used in our restaurants and counters. We are different from the traditional food hall model, as all our restaurants and counters are run by us, with our chefs and teams.”
Working in three restaurants and six eateries spread across two floors, those chefs – among the 300 people London Eataly employs – will also run cookery classes focusing on different regions of Italy, initially online and later in person.

Cooked Italian dishes are being delivered in east London as lockdown restrictions lift, which come with an Italian chef serving them up on your doorstep and pouring on the olive oil.
The pasta, pizza, deli and wine will be sent out from a new Eataly restaurant which is opening at the Broadgate shopping centre off Bishopsgate in May.

“These are traditional recipes we’re serving ahead of the restaurant opening,” manager Matteo Ferrio explained. “This is just as much a part of our restaurant before it actually opens.”
Vast Italian market Eataly set to open in the heart of the City
The Square Mile will soon be home to vast Italian market Eataly, which has already seen success in cities including New York, Boston, Los Angeles and Chicago.
Broadgate Market, London’s largest pedestrianised neighbourhood, will host the 42,000 sq ft venture, which will include take-away, retail, and terrace dining.
Eataly is slated to open on 29 April, providing workers returning to the office with fine Italian cheeses, antipasti, coffee, cocktails and a wide range of Italian dishes.
The market will offer more than 5,000 food products, sourced from Italy or locally, with highlights including butchers, fishmongers, bakers, cured meat and gelato counters, cheesemongers and wine merchants.
