Riders have always felt a deep connection with their motorcycles, being both vehicles of leisure and transportation. Yamaha Motor Philippines hopes to fortify that bond with its latest models that allow riders to link with their motorcycles with a new smart phone app.
That app is Yamaha Motorcycle Connect (Y-Connect), and once linked, it gives riders a more detailed look at their bike’s performance, condition, and statistics. The app can telegraph the bike’s fuel consumption, tachometer reading, service reminders, error codes or mulfunctions if any, as well as parking location. It can even link with other Yamaha riders across the globe to compare fuel consumption figures and eco-riding points.
Both bikes come with a side stand engine cut-off switch, while the FZS FI gets Bluetooth connectivity.
Yamaha has updated the FZ series for the 2021 model year. Prices for the FZ FI start from Rs. 1,03,700, and for the FZS FI start from Rs. 1,07,200 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The FZ Series now comes with a lightweight body which has dropped the overall weight from 137 kg to 135 kg. Both bikes get a side stand engine cut-off switch.
The FZS FI now gets Bluetooth-enabled Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X that offers features such as Answer Back, E-lock, Locate my bike and Hazard.
The FZ FI is available in two new colour options - Racing Blue and Metallic Black, while the FZS FI gets a new Matte Red option along with a 3D emblem.
