Lovato’s recent announcement that the singer is nonbinary and wants to be referred to as “they/them.”
“I’m against her binary thing; I think she’s a troubled woman, and a lot of young people are taking her seriously, and it bothers me,” Siegel said. “But of course, it’s a comedy show, so I did it in the context of jokes.”
The longtime radio host explained that he doesn’t want to be on the radio if he’s not allowed to say what he thinks.

Matty in the Morning show on Boston’s Kiss 108 FM, abruptly stormed off his long-running morning show on Wednesday after being told to “stop talking” about
Demi Lovato’sannouncement that they are non-binary.
Siegel, who’s been hosting his Boston radio show since 1981, delivered an on-air rant suggesting he was quitting the program for good.
“They pulled the plug on me and they said, ‘You cannot talk about what you’re talking about,’” he said on-air. “I like my boss personally, he’s been very nice to me. It’s not personal, it’s professional.”
