A principal and assistant principal at Larry A. Ryle High School in northern Kentucky have stepped into another role as bus drivers to help alleviate some of the driver shortage issues.
At least five principals are training for their Commercial Driver License to help reduce the strain from the bus driver shortage until the district can put more hires behind the wheel.
“It’s gone from a conversation that you had to actively pursue with GPs to a conversation that they actively want to have,” says NorthLeaf Capital’s Matt Shafer.
