Kobe Webster was honored as one of five student-athletes named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District® VII team on Thursday.
Webster, who graduated from Western Illinois in three years with a 3.75 GPA, is currently working on his master’s degree in educational administration and carries a 3.75 GPA in his master’s degree program. It is the second time Webster has been a first-team all-district pick, as he was also tabbed in 2019 at Western Illinois.
On the court, Webster has totaled over 1,600 career points and 300 assists during his collegiate career, after averaging 8.1 points per game for the Huskers last season. He had a pair of 20-point efforts last season, including a season-high 23-point performance at Northwestern. Webster ranked second on the Huskers in 3-pointers while shooting 38 percent from beyond the arc.
Akinwole scores 32 to carry Omaha past Denver 80-76

DENVER (AP) Ayo Akinwole had a career-high 32 points as Nebraska Omaha snapped its 10-game road losing streak, narrowly defeating Denver 80-76 on Friday.
Akinwole hit 6 of 8 3-pointers, and he added eight rebounds.
La’Mel Robinson had 20 points for Nebraska Omaha (4-19, 2-11 Summit League). Matt Pile added 12 points and nine rebounds.
Nebraska Omaha scored 51 first-half points, a season best.
Jase Townsend had 18 points for the Pioneers (2-18, 1-12), whose losing streak reached five games. Sam Hines Jr. added 15 points and seven rebounds, and Kobey Lam had 13 points.

Pile, Robinson lift Omaha over North Dakota 72-62

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) Matt Pile had 17 points and 13 rebounds as Nebraska Omaha ended its 14-game losing streak, topping North Dakota 72-62 on Friday night. La’Mel Robinson added 16 points for the Mavericks, while Ayo Akinwole chipped in 15. Akinwole also had 10 rebounds and six assists.
Nick Ferrarini had six rebounds for Nebraska Omaha (3-18, 1-10 Summit League).
Filip Rebraca had 22 points and 13 rebounds for the Fighting Hawks (8-16, 8-10). Caleb Nero added 13 points. Ethan Igbanugo had 10 points. Tyree Ihenacho had four points and 11 rebounds.
Tyree Ihenacho, whose nine points per game entering the matchup ranked second on the Fighting Hawks, had only four points on 2-of-11 shooting.
