As the cost of oil and some building supplies and other goods escalate, the city plans to build a new Augusta Police Station off Willow Street within the $20.5 million approved by voters.
The funding would go toward a new fire truck, pedestrian safety improvements and repairs to the now-closed upper deck of the city's parking garage and city streets.
Voters will be asked to approve most of the plan to borrow money for capital improvement projects in a March referendum vote after the City Council recently approved borrowing the money for capital improvement projects.
Approval comes after developers and state officials revise plan to no longer require overhead power lines on Tall Pines Way, through part of the Bond Brook Recreation Area.
