Heâs accused of running over a pedestrian, Jason Ashby, sometime before 6 a.m. June 21 near 900 Pardee St. Ashbyâs body was found by a woman who called 911.
According to testimony on Tuesday, Gardnerâs vehicle was identified on a nearby surveillance camera and was located at the corner of Crown Street and East Unaka Avenue. Police went to Gardnerâs home around noon that day and asked him to accompany them to the police department for questioning.
