Local Willard students learn to be global citizens

Many things look different at Willard Elementary School this year: teachers and kids all wear masks; desks are spaced 6 feet apart; and a parade of cars descends each day at drop-off and pick-up to minimize bus riding cohorts, just to name a few. But some things remain a constant, even in a pandemic. Notably, Willard takes great pride in its PTG-sponsored International Festival, founded in 2018, an event meant to celebrate the diversity and multiplicity of heritages that make up the students and families of the community. So when the school knew that gathering in person this year wouldn’t be possible, it was determined that the festival would go on.
