New Netflix Movie Tells the Heartbreaking Story of a MN Dad

Get our free mobile app I had seen there was a new movie starring Kevin Hart coming to Netflix, but I had no idea until now that the movie is based on a true story of a Minnesota dad and his daughter. The movie is called Fatherhood and it s coming to Netflix Father s Day weekend, June 18th. The movie depicts the heartbreak that Matt Logelin experienced after his wife Liz, died just one day after their daughter Maddy was born. Suddenly Matt had to raise Maddy all on his own. Both Matt and Liz are from the Twin Cities but at the time they lived in Los Angeles. Matt and Maddy still live in the LA area. Matt first started writing about his experience as a single dad in a blog. Then he wrote a book called Two Kisses for Maddy . And now it s a Netflix movie.

Based on Matt Logelin s Two Kisses for Maddy: A Memoir of Loss & Love, the film follows Hart s character, Matt, as he tackles raising his daughter after the death of his wife. I m basically a guy living life to the fullest in bliss, Hart told ET s Kevin Frazier on the set. And my wife dies after delivering a baby. I m left with the decision of raising my child while going through the darkest depression that I ve ever been through in my life.
