Work starts on RiverGate apartment building

A mid-2022 completion is target. To sit at 125 Liberty Lane and sandwiched by Gallatin Pike and Vietnam Veterans Boulevard, the three-story building will be constructed by Nashville-based Cumberland Contractors Multifamily LLC, the owner of which, Justin Belcher, represents the investor group. A permit, valued at $4.77 million, has been issued to allow for construction. Nashville-based Consortium (Paul Bass) is handling architectural duties, and the Ragan-Smith Associates (Matt Lackey) is overseeing engineering work. Liberty Lofts will offer a mix of one-bedroom/one-bathroom and two-bedroom/two-bathroom units. Group 2024 LLC owns the 1.46-acre property, having paid $375,000 for it in January 2020, according to Metro records. The property offers a Madison address, though it is located well north of Madison s epicenter.

His dad had bought the guitar for Matt’s older brother, who then decided he didn’t want to play music. “Dad taught me how to play a Creedence Clearwater Revival song, only three chords, the only ones Dad knew and the only ones he said I needed to start playing,” he recalls (those chords are G, C and D). Hooked on guitar at that influential age, Matt discovered his love for music. “I didn’t know where it was going to take me but it felt right,” he says of the transforming moment for the then 11-year old. When Matt was 4, the family moved from Danville, Virginia, to Concord, North Carolina when his father took a job as a mechanic and machinist for a race car team. Matt says that his dad’s job was to sit in a room all day and try to make the engine
