AUGUSTA â âIt is so much better now than it was a year ago,â says Tammy Dellwo, owner of the Buckhorn Bar in Augusta.
When the pandemic began, COVID-19 felt a world away from small communities like Augusta. Many in the small town on the Rocky Mountain front didnât think the virus could reach them, but local health officials urged the town to be prepared.
âThe county nurse here had a meeting with the heads of the church, heads of committees and all of that and like she said to us it s not if it happens in our small town, it s when it s gonna happen.â You know, to get us prepared,â says Dellwo.

GREAT FALLS â The owners of the historic Bunkhouse Inn in Augusta announced plans to begin construction on their new facility next month.
On October 10th, the Bunkhouse Inn was almost completely destroyed by a fire, but the owners have already set in motion plans to begin construction on the new hotel beginning in mid-February.
They hope to have the new Bunkhouse Inn open and ready for business in time for this yearâs Augusta American Legion Rodeo, scheduled for June 25-27.
âWithin days of the fire we actually started working with an architect and have been designing and trying to bring back kinda the original architecture of the hotel from when it was built out in Gilman,â said Matt Folkman, owner of the Bunkhouse Inn.
