Austria midfielder Xaver Schlager will miss this summer's European Championship after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in RB Leipzig's 1-1 draw with Hoffenheim on Friday.Schlager, 26, had to be substituted in the 16th minute after sustaining the injury to his left knee.The midfielder will undergo surgery in Innsbruck on Sunday and will be out for several months while he recovers, the club said in a statement.“This is a shock for all of us and especially for Xaver. He is a mainstay in our team and has had a strong season so far, which he wanted to crown by taking part in Euro 2024," said Leipzig sporting director Rouven Schroder.
