The Progress-Index ETTRICK Virginia State University said Wednesday it has chosen the first wave of 150 high-school seniors to attend the college tuition-free, adding there will also be room for an additional 150 more applicants. The chosen students are coming to VSU through the Virginia College Affordability Network [VCAN], an initiative open to 300 students who live nearby to study without charge. To be eligible, students must be receiving Pell grants, meet VSU admission requirements and live within a 25-mile radius of Ettrick.
