DHAKA, Jan 26, 2021 (BSS) â A court here today fixed March 3 to hold a hearing on charge framing in Gatco graft case against BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and others.
Acting judge Nazrul Islam of the Dhaka Special Judge Court -3 set the date, allowing a time plea of the defence.
Today was set for holding hearing on charge framing in the case, but prime accused Begum Khaleda Zia failed to appear before the court on health ground, making her counsels plead for time.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case against 13 people including Khaleda Zia and her younger son Arafat Rahman on September 2, 2007, with Tejgaon Police Station.

After 49 years of the Liberation War, the Bangladesh government has approved a primary list of 1,222 martyred intellectuals who made sacrifices for the nation in 1971, a Minister announced.
On Sunday, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huque said the list will be formally released this month.
Huque s announcement came a day ahead of country observing the Martyred Intellectuals Day on Monday.
In separate messages on Sunday, President M. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina , paying homage to the martyred intellectuals.

On Sunday, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huque said the list will be formally released this month.
Huque’s announcement came a day ahead of country observing the Martyred Intellectuals’ Day on Monday.
In separate messages on Sunday, President M. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina , paying homage to the martyred intellectuals.
Huque said the list was approved at the first meeting of the committee formed to compile it.
