Un train de marchandises du Canadien National (CN) a déraillé en fin de soirée le 24 juillet, au nord de Pointe au Baril, en Ontario. Le déraillement a créé des perturbations dans la circulation ferroviaire de la région.
Chris Krepski, un des porte-parole du Bureau de la sécurité des transports du Canada (BST), a confirmé que la locomotive de tête et environ deux douzaines de wagons de marchandises ont quitté les voies.
Le train transportait 99 wagons (57 chargés, 42 vides), pesait 2 942 tonnes et mesurait 5 849 pieds de long, a fait savoir le porte-parole dans un courriel.
